A full service law firm for seniors and families…

A will is a legal document which, according to your wishes, directs the distribution of your property at your death.

A will also names a executor/executrix to carry out your instructions as to the distribution of your property. Without a will, Louisiana law provides a “default” method, known as the laws of intestacy, to determine how your property will be distributed. This distribution will begin with members of your family, and in the absence of family, will be distributed to the State.

It is important to have an attorney draft a will in order to insure that is in proper legal form so that your wishes will be respected by the courts.

At our initial office conference for wills, you will be asked general information about assets, debts, descendants, ascendants and personal preferences regarding the distribution and administration of your estate. An attorney will discuss and make recommendations regarding your case.
